A tidy house, a tidy mind. Coming home to an organized space, grabbing a cup from the cupboard for a nice cup of tea, cooking in a clean and tidy kitchen, and then curling up on the couch with a book. Isn't that what we all want?
The reality is often different. We come home to find breakfast still on the table. First, we tidy up, unload the dishwasher just to be able to cook, then do some laundry and flop exhausted on the couch. Why can't we find that peace and quiet?
Of course, you're the exception, but many of our homes aren't organized. And these days, we're overloaded with stuff! Freebies we get from somewhere that we don't know where to put, all sorts of new cleaning gadgets that lead us to buy materials we don't actually need and then have to find a place to put them, cheap stores that lead us to buy all sorts of things we don't actually need, but that will just end up taking up space in our homes. Who among us has ever learned how to manage that?
Especially now that prices are rising, we're finding it even harder to get rid of things. What if I need it later? I'm sure I'll use it sometime next year. Well... it's handy to have it around when... and this way, we're preparing ourselves for times when things aren't going so well. The result: even more stuff in the house!
Trash and clutter are really nothing more than postponed decisions. And making choices is often a mountain to climb. If I throw it away, it's really gone. Hmm, I guess I'll just wait a bit. I once got this from my grandmother... I don't use it, but then again, throwing it away is something else... And then it just sits there again.
Want a tidy house? Start by making choices! Take a look at a room. Ask yourself: what do I want in this space? If the answer is: relaxation? Then that exercise bike definitely doesn't fit. Want a peaceful night's sleep in your bedroom? Get rid of that extra sofa you think you might need someday.
Go through your entire house like this. What do I want here, and do the items there contribute to that goal?
Make sure there are garbage bags full of waste leaving your house. Items that are still in good condition can go to friends or the thrift store. If they're no longer in good condition, they can often go with the residual waste. If items are too big for the residual waste, then you can text or call us en we collect the bulky waste by appointment, quickly and easily at your home.
And when we've visited, you'll have a tidy house and notice what it does for your mind. Enjoy!
